David is Director of Research Initiatives and Content Development at Sky Factory where he manages research partnerships with leading hospitals, public and private health organizations, as well as researchers in environmental design, neuroscience, and healthcare design. He’s the co-author of Sky Factory’s latest RIBA/USGBC CPD course, The Restorative Impact of Perceived Open Space, which explores how multisensory illusions of nature alter the patient experience, yielding unique positive outcomes. He’s presented at the Planetree International and the Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture (ANFA) Conferences. He’s contributed to several trade and professional publications, including Human Spaces, Conscious Cities Journal, Radiology Today and WorkDesign magazines. He is a member of the National Association of Science Writers (USA). Sky Factory’s collaborative, peer reviewed published research has earned awards from the Design & Health International Academy, the Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA), and Planetree International, a global leader in patient experience advocacy.
